Biography

Founded in 1957, SPE is the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry.

Today, SPE has more than 156000 members in 154 countries participate in 203 sections and 383 student chapters.

SPE Beirut Section has been established on 15 June 2018. It shares all SPE’s missions which are  to collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources, and related technologies for the public benefit

Moreover, this section is holding a big responsibility connecting all the professionals of the new upstream industry in Lebanon. Today, two student chapters are under the umbrella of SPE Beirut Section: BAU Student Chapter and LAU Student Chapter.

Beirut section is aiming to have strong bonds with every university teaching petroleum engineering and related subjects.

Making the students and the young professionals involved in the petroleum industry is a priority. SPE offers a lot to them like technical knowledge, international competitions, building connections and enhancing their technical and professional competence.

SPE also encourage experts to help it achieve these goals by joining it, sharing their experience, and growing the community.

SPE offers a lot more and it the recognized leader for technical information in the upstream oil and gas industry.
