Karim Badawi started his career with Schlumberger in 1996 as a Field Engineer in Indonesia for three years, then went on to several assignments in Aberdeen, Egypt, Paris, Houston, Russia and Central Asia and currently back to Egypt.
Karim is currently the Managing Director for Schlumberger Oilfield Services, Egypt & East Mediterranean Region, based in Cairo, a position he assumed in May 2018. In his current role he is responsible for developing Schlumberger’s Characterization, Drilling, Production, Integrated and Cameron projects portfolios for the region.
Prior to his current role, he held various executive managerial positions based in Moscow including Reservoir Characterization Manager for Russia and Central Asia, Vice president for Shared Services for Russia and Central Asia. Prior to that, he was Global Business Systems manager for Operations based in Houston. Prior to that during his first 12 years in the company Karim held various position in Wireline Product line where he was the Wireline Product line Global Training and Development manager Based in Paris, Operations Manager for Egypt and East Africa Region based in Cairo, Training Center manager based in Alexandria, Field Service Manager based in Aberdeen and prior to his management positions Karim worked in the field as Wireline Field engineer in Aberdeen and Indonesia.
Karim holds a Bachelor of Science - B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from American University in Cairo and Master of Science - M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from American University in Cairo as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Erasmus university in Rotterdam.
